Despite this fandom’s very best efforts, the execs at Fox have decided not to pick up the Delirium pilot.
As Entertainment Weekly said in an online article today, “This year’s pilot season has claimed its first online fandom victims.” That is clearly the case as many on Tumblr and Twitter are quite upset over Delirium being passed over. @JuustMel, a leader in the Delirium fandom, is quite disappointed, and her tweets represent the feelings of a large number of other fans.
Gregg Sulkin, who was cast as Julian Fineman in the pilot, has issued a sad message to his fans and all fans of Delirium:
“Unfortunately, it’s officlal that Delirium did NOT get picked up by FOX.
Firstly, and I am sure I speak on behalf of all the cast, I would like to thank everyone for their support over the past few weeks. Never have I experienced, or seen anything like that in my life. Your support for the show has simply been sensational. I am very humbled and grateful.
The cast, producers, crew are as devastated as you are. We were all extremely passionate about this project, and was looking forward to working with each other on a regular basis. It wasn’t meant to be.
However, as they say, as one door closes, another opens, and I hope you guys continue to stay on this journey with me.
Of course, I would have loved the show to get on the air, but lets continue now to kick on, as a team, and I hope I can continue to make you guys proud in the future.
All the best,
Hopefully, as Gregg and Mel have stated, we will be fortunate enough to have another door open for our fandom. Until then, keep reading and keep spreading the deliria!
